Variety of Life! |
___________________________________________________________________
Golf, Theater, and Horse Parks With our own Paris Pike ending in downtown Lexington at the Convention Center and Rupp Arena, our access to the best shows and entertainment in the city is more convenient than Lexington suburbs. We are not a rural community where we struggle to find things to do; rather, there is so much here, both in our backyard and just a few minutes away! Shopping Whether it’s walking downtown for a little shopping and a light lunch, or filling the trunk with shopping bags from Circuit City or a shopping spree at Macy’s, both are easy – just make your plan! Kids & Family To complement compelling school choices and their many extracurricular programs and sports, our kids and parents enjoy tons of family-friendly fun! Click Here for More Family and Kids’ Stuff ___________________________________________________________________
Dining & Food That’s Chicken Ranch’s tenders dinner, with macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, and sweet tea – $4.99! Paris has a heavenly selection of food, from quaint coffee shops, our Farmer’s Market, ethnic eateries, and at Louie’s you can dine with employees at Claiborne Farm and listen to stories about their famous horses, from Seattle Slew to Secretariat. Bonefish Grill and other chains are close, and Starbucks is local! Click Here for Dining & Food ___________________________________________________________________
History Henry Clay hung out here, as did Daniel Boone. The inventor of the traffic light was born in Bourbon County. And by the way, did we mention that Bourbon Whiskey was originally made here – after all, that’s why it’s called Bourbon! We used to be part of Virginia and our history/founding dates back to the late 1700s. Family Perspectives What better way to see how it is to live here than to meet some families? Click Here to meet the Fritsch and the Shaw families (Video) ___________________________________________________________________ Rupp Arena and Convention Center
Amazingly, our Paris Pike leads right into Rupp Arena and the Convention Center as it changes into Broadway and intersects with Main Street – no turns and under 17 miles from Bourbon County with no traffic lights until we get into downtown Lexington.
Click Here for Marshall Field Click Here for Garden Club For flying enthusiasts, Marshall Field is easily accessible on SR 460, the other connector road to I-75 from downtown Paris, our bypass, close to the Paris Industrial Park, and its Gulfstream 5 compatible. Downtown Paris is also Headquarters for the Kentucky Garden Club. ___________________________________________________________________ Neighbors Involved in Our Lives in Bourbon County: Click on Images to Meet

Events Calendar Outside of your own pursuits and hobbies, season passes to the Opera House, above, visits to Keeneland, concerts and sporting events at the Convention Center and Rupp Arena, or family/school events, regular annual events are in abundance in our region – here is a list of some of them!
